Operations near and far
Our Cadia site is located in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.
Who we’re looking for
As an Operations Trainer, you will provide, maintain and improve employee’s competency levels through training and assessment to assist Cadia in safely delivering on strategic site objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Encourage Safety Programs such as the NewSafe Behaviours and Newcrest Values to ensure positive communication and assistance is given to others when identified or needed.
- Conduct hands-on Surface and UG training using the approved training and assessment documentation.
- Keep training and assessment material current by identifying and addressing any changes.
- Utilize the training learning management system to analyse training gaps in current role descriptions, as per schedule or as directed by Training Supervisors, to identify areas that require training.
- Carry out inductions to personnel as required, following designated induction days.
About you
Qualified with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, you will have experience in surface and UG mining. A manual driver’s licence is compulsory.
You should also have a passion for compliance and process improvement and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your ability to work to structure, experience in stakeholder management along with ability to prioritise and think quickly on your feet, will ensure your success in the role. Proficient use of MS Office and ability to operate training systems will also be required for the role.
Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based in Orange, NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster.
