Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on 7:7 Day and Night roster, FIFO from Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa.

Reporting to the Supervisor Maintenance Mobile, the purpose of this role is to maintain and repair surface and underground mobile mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner as per work management process, maintenance schedules and work instructions to achieve the desired operational requirement

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy mobile mining equipment and plant, light vehicles, lighting plants, electric vehicles, forklifts.
• Attend to vehicle and equipment breakdowns
• Maintain, diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems
• Low voltage electrical systems including CAN, PLC and payload software
• Diagnose and repair faults on advanced auto electrical circuits
• Ensuring compliance with the work management process for work execution whilst capturing all related transactional data into the SAP system
• Carry out detailed inspections and audits of auto electrical system on mobile equipment
• Foster a positive can-do attitude and be a part of a dynamic team

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• 3 years post trade qualification
• Proficient with Caterpillar, Epiroc, Sandvik, Normet and Volvo Underground Mining Equipment.
• Proficient with light vehicles (Toyota Landcruiser & Ford Ranger), forklifts, lighting plants and other auxiliary equipment.
• Demonstrate competent fault finding and diagnostics principles on advanced auto electrical systems within Mobile Mining Equipment
• Understanding of Mobile Mining Equipment Electrical Systems and software
• Cat. ET, TEXA and SERDIA diagnostic tooling
• Proficient in conducting automotive air-conditioning servicing and repairs

Qualifications for this position are:

• Trade (Auto Electrician)
• Refrigerant handling license
• Class C or higher Drivers Licence
• HRWL Gantry Crane, Dogging and Forklift Licenses are desirable but not essential
