This role will report to the Supervisor Drill & Blast. As the Operator Blast the purpose of this role is to execute blasting operations activities according to the Operations and blast Plan within the requirements of the standards and operating procedures provided.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Primary responsibilities are to:
- Control and Monitor quality parameters of blasting activities.
- Execute the blasting activities according to the schedule and only where competent to do so.
- Work with all required explosive products and associated tools and equipment, as defined by the operations standards and operating procedures.
- Understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to work tasks of the production execution sub-function and work to the prescribed performance standards and controls.
- Review and update plans and equipment history and communicate status to appropriate parties.
- Maintain accurate records as required to control the use of explosives.
- Provide on job training and mentoring to operator blast trainees.

This role is based at the Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour). This is DIDO position as there is no accommodation available on site. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. |
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated oral and written english language proficiency.
- Hold a current ‘C’ class license.
- Understand the concept of continuous improvement.
- Have been awarded all primary, secondary knowledge qualifications where applicable.
- Be eligible to obtain a Dangerous Goods Security Card. (DGSC)
- Meets defined behavioral expectations.
