Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on a 7/7 dayshift/nightshift roster, Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville or Cairns, or Drive-in/Drive-out from Mount Isa.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor Fixed Plant Maintenance, the role of Operator Electrician is to safely maintain surface electrical infrastructure in the concentrator processing plant. Operator electricians are responsible for the safe execution of preventative, corrective & reactive work to the highest levels of safety and quality to ensure equipment availability.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Experience with 1SAP computerised work management system, or similar systems.
• Understanding and experience working with SCADA interfaces, PLC’s & other control systems.
• Sound understanding of crushing & grinding processing operations. I.E. Conveyors & ore handling, grinding circuits, jaw crushers, cone crushers etc.
• Sound understanding of concentrator processing operations. I.E. Floatation circuits, filter presses, thickeners etc.
• Experience working with high voltage reticulation networks (Switching, Terminations & Splicing).
• Sound understanding of Australian Standards and Queensland legislation pertaining to Electrical Work.
• Ability to manage, influence and work within a multi discipline maintenance team.
• Highly motivated self-starter.
• Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to efficiently navigate and utilise computer networks and applications.
• Ability to work in an underground mining environment as required.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Tertiary qualification as an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic.
