About the role
To safely maintain equipment to the defined standards and procedures ensuring plant availability targets are achieved. You will be able to execute the work arising from breakdown - Rush ([Preventative Maintenance] PM03 work orders) - to the correct standards of safety and quality ensuring equipment availability to achieve production plan.
This permanent role is being offered on a 7/7 roster Friday to Friday, ideally Fly-in/Fly-out from Townsville or Brisbane.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure Mechanical installations and equipment are in accordance with the appropriate Australian standards.
- Actively participate in creating a workplace which is free from harassment, discrimination and victimisation by taking a proactive role in the setting and maintaining of appropriate standards of behaviour.
- Assist in ensuring ongoing site maintenance activities meet statutory requirements and internal South32 standards, as specified by Legislation, Cannington HSEC, Environmental, and Engineering groups.
- Complete and maintain the appropriate training required for the position.
- Assist with the management of spare parts/refurbishment of rotable equipment to improve service life, reliability, reduce costs etc.
- Assist in the control of maintenance inventory. Co-ordinate direct charge purchases. Ensure consumables and spares are made warehouse stock as required.
- Assist the Mechanical Group to capture good, reliable work order data in order to generate accurate reliability figures.
- Ensure maintenance strategies and activities are captured in SAP for all Mechanical maintenance activities.
- Assist in the development of Procedures, maintenance plans and SWI’s,
- Together with operations, OH&S, and maintenance personnel, ensure that Take 5’s and JSA’s have been completed for each job as required
- Work on a rotating shift basis (Nightshift/Dayshift) when required.
About you
- Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter/Fitter and Turner
- Exposure to Fixed plant systems in an underground environment.
- SAP PM Proficiency.
- Have an understanding of Hydraulic systems.
- Able to read and decipher detailed construction drawings.
- Basic Machining skills.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Extensive knowledge pumping of systems.
- Knowledge of crushing conveying systems.
- Exposure to Winding/Hoisting systems.
- Fault finding abilities.
- Ability to manage, influence and work within a multi discipline maintenance team.
- Underground maintenance experience preferred.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate.
- Ability to work in an underground mining environment as required
