ABOUT Cannington

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on 5:2 roster, DIDO from Townsville.

The role of the Operator Maintainer – Electrical is to safely deliver to the Cannington committed sales target, through efficient operation of plant and equipment and deliver to reliability of plant through maintenance task performance

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Breakdown work and problem diagnosing fault finding
• Performing general maintenance duties to ensure availability and reliability of plant
• Working effectively and collaterally with immediate colleagues and others in cross-functional relationships, on tasks within the context of Cannington’s vision to be the safety, most efficient underground hard rock mining and processing operation.
• A commitment to Safety and Environment Management Principles.
• Unloading of trains and loading of ships within the defined KPI regime
• Performing of maintenance tasks to the work management plan

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minor PLC programming and fault finding.(Allan Bradley)
• PDL, Siemens and Altaver VVVF drives
• High voltage Switching
• Installation and maintenance of three phase and single-phase heavy industrial equipment.
• Forklift, EWP, skid steer loader and front-end loader
• Instrumentation accreditation
• MR.HR licence

Qualifications for this position are:

• A current Queensland Electrical Trade qualification.
