For an interim period between September 2024 to February 2025, South 32 will continue to provide recruitment services on behalf of IMC. Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a permanent full-time position rotating over days and nights on 12-hour shifts and will be based at our Dendrobium Coal Processing Plant, Port Kembla in the coastal city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

Reporting to the Team Leader Production, this role will focus on performance, adjusting, and carrying out maintenance repairs on the Dendrobium Coal Preparation Plant to support the achievement of the business plan. You will follow HSEC standards, conduct audits, and report non-conformances.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  

• Plant inspection and monitoring of the coal preparation process.
• Problem diagnosis and resolution.
• Ordering spares utilising the SAP system to requisition items and equipment.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Experience working in a process or manufacturing plant environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
• Skilled in problem-solving and fault-finding.
• SAP experience or similar maintenance management system.

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter)
• Forklift Licence
