About the Role

Reporting to the Preservation Supervisor, you will be working alongside the warehouse teams. This role is solely responsible for the execution of preservation activities in order to empower our operations with fit for purpose critical and scoped materials safely, efficiently and on schedule. 

Tasks completed within the role include but are not limited to; inspections and maintenance of critical spares according to the preservation schedule, applying preservation to materials, forklift operations and on occasion general warehouse duties. 

This role involves regular DIDO travel from Mackay to all of the BMA sites in the Bowen Basin. Camp accommodation & travel arrangements will be provided. 

Your responsibilities include: 

•    An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities. •    Complying with BHP Policies, Procedures and Standards. •    Safe and efficient execution of preservation activities as per company procedures •    High standards of work to maintain warehouse(s) and yard(s) to a global warehouse standard •    Actively participate in all team meetings and safety meetings/forums •    Adherence to preservation roster, preservation work plans and Supervisor direction •    Flexibility with the ability to work autonomously, or to lead by example as required by the operation •    Participate in all training provided to achieve the competencies required for the role

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following: 

  • Class C Manual Open Driver’s License
  • Construction Card (White Card)
  • Forklift Ticket
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Enjoy working in the outdoors
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Maintenance / parts knowledge (advantageous)
  • Administrative and computing skills (advantageous)
