About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operator QM to support our automated sampling facility and laboratory at Cape Lambert. This role is suited to applicants with strong mining laboratory, robotics, and automated sample preparation experience.
You will operate and monitor automated sampling systems, robotic cells and advanced analytical equipment to ensure accurate and compliant sample delivery to support ship‑loading. Working within shift-based operations (including nights), you will troubleshoot system faults, maintain sampling integrity, and complete critical analytical tasks in a fast‑paced production environment.
Reporting to the Supervisor and working in a collaborative community you will
Operate and monitor robotics, automated sampling systems and specialised lab instruments
Perform routine and preventative checks on Sample plants, Laboratory and automation equipment
Manage workflows using Prepmaster, LIMS, SAP, HMI
Conduct analytical tasks: flux fusion, TGA, XRF, moisture, sizing, manual prep (RSD, crusher/splitter
Maintain fixed plant hygiene
Identify and escalate automation sample worksheets and breakdown's
Maintain strict sampling quality, traceability and ISO‑aligned standards
Uphold strong safety behaviours and critical risk controls
What you’ll bring
Demonstrated alignment to Care, Courage, Curiosity
Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques
Minimum 4 years mining laboratory experience, including:
Flux fusion, TGA, XRF
Manual sample preparation (RSD, crusher, splitter)
Moisture and sizing analysis
Experience with automated sampling systems, robotics and specialised instruments
Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automation faults
Experience with Prepmaster, Wonderware, SAP, SuperQ, StarLIMS
Strong QA/QC and ISO understanding
Ability to perform in a high‑throughput, time‑critical environment
Strong safety mindset
Highly desirable
Certificate in Automation or Instrumentation

Where you’ll be working
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
