OPF Operations Superintendent
Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
A key leadership role within the OPF team at Christmas Creek, Fortescue are looking for a passionate and inclusive leader to directly manage a multi-disciplinary team of up to 60 on site to ensure fixed plant operations are steady and reliable. You will strive for continuous improvement in the operating philosophy across the two process plants and oversee the management of multiple vendors supporting operations.
Reporting to the OPF Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining budgeting and forecasting processes for the operational team and collaborate with mine planning to ensure Operational plans are accurate and followed.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Liaising with other superintendents and stakeholders to ensure plant continuity
- Contribute to shut planning, risk assessments and kick off meetings
- Participate in Critical Control Monitoring and team based risk assessments
- Coach and conduct Field Leaderships
- Coach and mentor direct reports in risk management processes for fixed plant operations
- Participation in incident investigations
- Ensure BMS obligations are met
- Develop and implement at least one safety initiative per quarter
- Foster business improvement initiatives within the team
Qualifications and skills required:
- Trade or tertiary qualifications preferred but not essential
- Extensive relative fixed plant operation's experience required
- Extensive experience in leading diverse workforces
- Ability to influence in a large, dynamic business environment
- Project Management experience desirable (DCRM)
- SAP and Anaplan experience preferred but not essential
