Work Location: Hedland Operations - Rail

Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth

As an Ore Car Maintenance Supervisor, you will be working at FMG's Thomas Yard Rollingstock Maintenance Facility located 20 kilometre's south of South Hedland. You will be accountable for the safe, quality servicing of a fleet of  4000+ Iron Ore rail wagons, and the health and well being of your. For your 14 shifts, you will reside in FMG's Club Hamilton located in South Hedland, commuting to Thomas Yard by mini bus for your 12 hour shift. You will be a team player, dedicated to the success of the entire RSM department, working together to help your peers. Key accountabilities will include:

  • Provide Positive Safety Leadership to Ore Car Team, promoting safe operational output
  • Supervise the Maintenance Execution of up to 4090 Ore Cars
  • Respond/Support Mainline Locomotive Operators for any mainline Ore Car issues
  • Identify and promote safety and operational improvements
  • Development of team members to enhance operational culture, including performance reviews
  • Assist in the development and management of Maintenance Budget

 Education and Experience:

  • Mechanical or Fabrication Trade Certificate desirable
  • Experience in managing a team of maintainers in a dynamic, high pressure environment
  • Ore Car maintenance experience preferred
  • Qualification in leadership (Cert IV, or diploma) preferred
  • High Level of Competence in Microsoft suite
  • High Level of Competence and ability in SAP
  • Highly developed skills in communication, enabling to communicate at all levels
