We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia.  Our Ashton Coal Operations include an underground mine and coal handling and preparation plant, located in Camberwell, in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. The site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Production Manager, some of the responsibilities for the Outbye Supervisor will include:

  • Plan, implement and maintain the Outbye operations
  • Responsible for planning, logistics and the development of site specific safety systems for the Outbye services
  • Implement and manage the Outbye Budget
  • Map underground Outbye processes and identify bottlenecks
  • Identify methods and promote suggestions to improve the efficiencies of current system and processes.
  • Work closely with Technical Services and Engineering Teams to achieve the mine plan on a page.
  • Manage the outbye services team

Applicants must have a commitment to working safely, be a self-starter, pro-active, results orientated and focused on maintaining the high standards in place at the mine.

Skills and Experience

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in front line leadership role
  • Proven commitment to safety
  • SAP Experience and computer knowledge
  • Planning & logistics experience
  • Mining Budget Knowledge and implementation
  • Sound knowledge of the Coal Mining Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in a similar role or function within underground mining

Your skills and experience will be complimented by the following qualifications:

  • Certificate of Competence (Deputy) or equivalent
  • Engineering background / knowledge (Desirable)
