Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services, while providing excellent customer support to internal and external stakeholders.

Working across payroll operations and service desk support, you will gain end-to-end exposure to payroll processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing Level 1 payroll support, responding to employee and stakeholder enquiries via the service desk in a professional and timely manner
  • Accurately maintaining and updating payroll master data in line with established procedures
  • Performing high-volume data entry of payroll-related information with strong attention to detail
  • Escalating and allocating complex payroll queries to Level 2 support where required
  • Supporting end-to-end pay run activities, including completion of post-payrun tasks
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end payroll processing and statutory reporting requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensure all supporting documentation is correctly filed for audit purposes
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to provide payroll information and resolve queries
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by providing input into payroll processes, procedures, and policies
  • Demonstrating initiative and actively participate in team projects and payroll-related improvements

Skills and Experience

  • Cert III in Business Administration
  • Minimum 2 years administrative experience in a similar role
  • Experience in system management and improvement
  • Payroll Knowledge – an advantage
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in high-volume tasks
  • Solid numerical aptitude with the ability to interpret and work with payroll data
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
