About Rio Tinto

Every idea, every innovation, every little thing the world calls ‘progress’ begins with a first step, and someone willing to take it: explorers, inventors, entrepreneurs. Pioneers.

For nearly 150 years, Rio Tinto has been a company of pioneers – generations of people spanning the globe, all with the grit and vision to produce materials essential to human progress.

Our iron ore has shaped skylines from Shanghai to Sydney. Our aluminium – the world’s first to be certified “responsible” – helps planes fly and makes cars lighter. Our copper helps wind turbines power cities, and our boron helps feed the world, and explore the universe.

Our diamonds help us celebrate the best parts of life.

Where you’ll be working

We want to become the best operator in the industry and the Rio Tinto Safe Production System (RTSPS) will help us to get there. We are currently building the system and there are lighthouse sites across the product groups. It’s a system that puts people at the centre, simplifies what we do, frees our people up to innovate, and brings consistency to our operations.

The RTSPS will be the blueprint for how we operate our assets, manage performance, and support our people. It’s one of our most significant transformation programmes yet with a laser focus on ensuring we have the right mindsets and behaviours to be successful.

Travel to various operations in the Southern Hemisphere will be required to be successful in this role
