Permit Coordinator

Work Location:  Hedland Operations

Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

Roster:  8D/6R Residential in Port Hedland

Role overview:

The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for all isolation, tagging and permit requirements for the Process Plant in either a routine daily or shutdown capacity. This position will be imperative to maintaining the safety of people and equipment in and around the plant.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Carry out regular inspections of work areas to ensure correct isolations are in place and are functional
  • Ensure all permits are in place and coherent with the work requirements
  • Design, prepare and implement all permitting and isolation plans for shutdown and daily work
  • Audit all electrical and mechanical isolations to ensure compliance
  • Complete operational churns and facilitate isolation reviews

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Trade Qualification or similar (Electrical preferable) 
  • Proven experience performing isolations and/or permitting in the Mining Industry
  • Strong attention to detail and good computer skills required
  • Previous experience within a Fixed Plant environment is advantageous
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a fast-paced team environment
  • Previous experience with Intellipermit (or similar electronic permitting) advantageous
