Piping Engineer
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: Monday to Friday
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet.
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Principal – Piping and Process Engineering, we are presently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing Piping Engineering support to all hydrogen, and ammonia projects within Green Fleets portfolio in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
- Develop technical specifications and designs to meet project specific objectives
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes
- Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
- Direct contact with design scopes involving fabrication, assembly, testing and commissioning of ammonia and hydrogen systems
Qualifications and skills required:
- Mechanical engineering degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 3 years of experience with detailed design of piping systems (Pipe materials and support specifications, Plot plans, piping stress reports, flange management etc…)
- Pipe stress analysis (including FIV and AIV) experience required
- Experience interpreting P&IDs and 3D design of piping systems
- CAD experience with Solidworks is highly recommended
- Experience with HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA
- Experience with relevant piping and pressure vessel standards from ASME, API, and AS required
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
- Experience in preparing detailed scope of works
