We are looking for Pit Patrollers/Field Builder to join our teams. The Pit Patroller provides a critical service to the mobile equipment operators to help them safely achieve optimal production. You’ll share information about the condition of the site, best locations for equipment and proactively ensuring optimal conditions. There is also the opportunity to assist with in-pit leadership coverage
You may have experience in a similar role, or you may have exposure to, or a passion for, technology along with collaborative leadership experience and exceptional communication skills, we’re open to the skills and experience you bring and will provide training as needed.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your accountabilities will include:
- Undertake general leadership support activities such as assisting with and executing PSI’s, infield safety verifications, attending leadership debriefs and identifying & implementing high safety standards.
- Monitor AHT performance / efficiency / speed and take corrective action through Supervisor or Central Controller where required. Actively identify opportunities for AHT performance improvement.
- Work with the Central Controller to manage AHS hazards, identify potential issues for the system (network routes not mapped correctly to physical environment) and look for unprotected people, obstacles or equipment.
- Manage and improve spot times, the pit environment (e.g. windrows, signage, boom gates, tip head etc), pit design and AHT movement through location updates and optimisation.
- Undertake general team support activities such as transporting team members/equipment, removing physical obstacles, setting up mobile lighting plants and hot seating equipment as required.
What you’ll bring

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and making good decisions
- Proven ability and understanding of productivity priorities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and in a safe manner.
- Desire to influence and effective positive change from within.
- Experienced all round operator with preferred dig unit experience
- Experience operating Caterpillar or Komatsu mining machinery
- Sound AHS knowledge and R&D survey experience.
