About the role

Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to provide Fixed Plant Planning and Shutdown Planning support to the site’s maintenance execution teams. The team contributes to the improvement in reliability and performance of the business’s physical assets through the implementation of the Manage Physical Assets business process.

This role is a great opportunity to demonstrate your ability to engage, connect and positively influence at all organizational levels, which will play a critical part to the effectiveness in this role.

Reporting to the Senior Planner, the primary focus of the Maintenance Planner is to develop mechanical maintenance work plans, ensure statutory tactics are kept up to date and process mechanical maintenance notifications into work orders so that the maintenance execution team can perform work safely and in a timely manner. The planning of these maintenance activities will ensure the effective running of the plant to minimise down time and maximise production - making this a critical role to the success of the business.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Planner and your key accountabilities will be: -

  • Review and Scope notifications including primary and secondary maintenance work for Fixed Plant Maintenance
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to improve reliability
  • Review and Scope maintenance activities for modular shutdowns and ensure the work is captured in the 13 weekly shutdown forecasts
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental rules, regulations, procedures, and guidelines advising of non-compliance.
  • Take part in field time to identify safety and productivity improvement opportunities
  • Support the Scheduling Team; provide recommendations on equipment maintenance strategies and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Assist Drawing Officer with updating drawing information changes as required 

What you’ll bring

Your trade qualifications and background will mean you are experienced with maintenance execution, scheduling, or planning of fixed plant mining equipment. To succeed in this role, you will need to be tenacious and resilient, with a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships within your team and with key customer groups. The ability to initiate and implement change with commitment and drive are desirable attributes to the role.

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Relevant experience working in a fixed plant planning role essential
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft suite essential
  • Commitment to maintaining a high level of personal safety and hazard awareness
  • Mechanical trade or engineering qualification
  • A current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence

Where you’ll be working

Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
