Job Responsibilities

Macmahon Holdings are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our motivated and results driven
finance team as a Plant Accountant supporting the operation division.


Macmahon is a leading Australian company delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining,
underground mining, civil and engineering services to the resources sector throughout Australia and
South East Asia.


About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Accountant the successful candidate will be responsible for:
o Maintaining the Asset Register including Capital Work in Progress (recording additions,
disposals, transfers, assets held for sale)
o Plant finance and administration - accounting procedures related to various operations (e.g.
general ledger, accruals, journal entry preparation, property/plant reconciliations)
o Prepares monthly depreciation and plant reports including analysis for monthly actuals
compared to budget
o Reconciliation of PPE roll forward on a monthly basis (statutory PPE note)
o Reconciliation of Capital Works in Progress through capitalisation of major assets and
respective components
o Report on Capex spend for the Company and provide analysis report for month end report
pack
o Responsible for inventory accounting regarding reconciliations, stock takes and adjustments
o Provides support to business unit managers in preparation of the Plant and inventory budgets
o Assist in half-year and year-end Financial Audits
o Ad-hoc tasks as required to support the business operations.


We are looking for individuals who are able to demonstrate:
o CPA or CA qualified with experience in mining plant and equipment
o Minimum 2-5 years' accounting experience with exposure to medium sized public companies
o Strong technical and analytical skills
o SAP experience preferred
o Good communication skills – able to interact with both finance and operational stakeholders
o Intermediate excel skills and strong attention to detail
o Excellent Team player – works as part of a team to deliver results on time at a high standard
o Experience within mining and resource industry preferred

initiative and have the ability to problem solve and be a quick thinker under pressure. Exceptional
communication skills, interpersonal skills and a customer focused attitude are essential in order to
achieve positive outcomes.

alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
