Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and is shipped to our customers all over the world. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.  

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Plumber to join our Maintenance Service Team. Reporting to the MST Supervisor, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the continued efficiency of the department and our equipment across site. 

On a day-to-day basis, this role is responsible for:

• Performing maintenance tasks to execute the plan to a high quality
• Identification of additional maintenance activities required and raising subsequent associated work orders
• Booking labour hours accurately
• Work order management and for proactively closing any outstanding work orders
• Identifying resource requirements necessary to perform maintenance tasks (e.g., materials, equipment) and source these resources by completing stock requisitions in accordance with approved processes
• Following safety practices and procedures when undertaking work
• Behaving in line with Glencore values including actively participating in training and development activities

You are a good fit for this role if you:

• Hold a Bobcat, Excavator and Heavy Rigid License
• Have previous experience qualified trade
• Possess a high level of communication, time management and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements relating to open pit mining
