About the Role
As the Plumber (Mechanical Engineering Technician), You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and will be an innovative thinker with a strong head for business and budget management, experience in a similar role is essential as we are looking for a driven individual who has potential to be people leader, considers the big picture and bring their perspective to our operations. Conducting all tasks in safest manner possible in line with BHP Charter Values, BHP Policies/ Procedures, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
You will be responsible to undertake day-to-day preventative and breakdown maintenance & operation of FIFO camp mechanical assets. The location of this role is within NPI camps, based in our mining Area C Camps.
Reporting to the Supervisor NPI, Your role will include but not limited to.
- Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action;
- Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications;
- Statutory Inspections and testing on Village Assets;
- Kitchen Equipment Preventative maintenance and repairs;
- Village rooms & Laundry’s maintenance and repairs;
- Breakdown and fault analysis, repairs and servicing on commercial assets,
- Carrying out commissioning, fault finding and repair work within the whole-of-job scope, including pre-work, preparation of JHAs, organising materials, execution, testing and completion of tasks;
- Safely carry out isolations in preparation for maintenance and shutdowns;
- Accurately completing documentation, including drawing mark-ups and technical reporting;
- Accurately recording information for Quality and Reliability reporting; Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance systems and cost saving initiatives.
- Utilising computerised maintenance management systems
- Undertaking training and development requirements as required
About You
Our successful candidate will have the following:
- WA Contractors License highly regarded
- Gas ticket and servicing experience highly regarded
- Machinery tickets highly regarded
- Trade qualified
- Have a proven track record of safety management
- Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
- Have previous experience in similar role
- Experience with Fiori and 1SAP Work Management processes and Microsoft Office highly regarded
- Minimum of C class manual driver’s license (HR Licence Preferred)
Location
You will be based at Mulla Mulla and Packsaddle Villages located 120km north of Newman on a fly-in fly-out 7:7 roster. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
