Title: Polymer Synthesis Technician - North America
Work location: Manassas, VA
Roster: Monday - Friday (Shift Work), 3 days (Tuesday-Thursday) working 2pm-10pm and 2 days (Monday and Friday) working 9am - 5pm.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Ability to apply techniques to advance projects at all phases of development of company materials.
- Experience of effectively developing the scale up process of company materials.
- Work with Scientists, Engineers, and other Technicians to perform synthesis of company materials by following the oral and/or written instructions.
- Monitor and document all synthesis properly.
- Effectively communicate with the Scientists, Engineers, and other Technicians regarding the deviations in the synthesis.
- Understand and comply with all lab safety parameters and procedures.
- Responsible for housekeeping activities in lab.
- Perform any other duties assigned by leadership.
- Collaborate with Scientists and Engineers to maximize the performance of company materials.
- Add the highest possible value to the organization through technical or human collaboration.
- Keep management informed with weekly reports or presentations
- Work collaboratively with peers and Steering Committee members to encourage open communication and to fulfill the mission of the organisation.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Associate degree in Chemistry, Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, organic chemistry, or polymer chemistry is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in chemical synthetic lab is REQUIRED.
- Experience in scale up on organic / polymer synthesis.
- Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality.
