About the Role
This role will see you reporting to the Superintendent – Track Renewals Projects, where you will oversee the successful management of the Track Renews Capital and Operating portfolios. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in the BHP Field Leadership program.
- Ownership and management of the Track Renewals Portfolio in terms of prioritisation, cost performance, schedule performance and associated reporting in Planview.
- Preparation of monthly portfolio performance reports.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Engineers and other key stakeholders to support delivery of projects in line with cost and schedule KPIs by supporting timely and accurate project analysis and reporting.
- Co-ordinate the submission of quarterly capital reprioritisations, strategic plans and budgets.
- Build cross functional relationships with key stakeholders to support the delivery of the portfolio.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the cost control team to ensure the accurate completion of monthly accruals, forecasts, financial reporting and purchase order development.
- Support the ongoing development and management of financial systems, business processes, internal controls and quality improvement strategies with respect to project controls and management.
- Identify and drive cost improvement initiatives and projects.
This role is based in Port Hedland and FIFO or residential options can be offered. Flexible work arrangements are also supported.
Location
In this 5/2/4/3 role you will be based in Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary/degree qualification in Project Management or Engineering or extensive experience in capital portfolio management delivery (desirable)
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (desirable)
- Sound financial acumen. Knowledge of local accounting standards and policies will be advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- The ability to lead and develop a high performing team to deliver positive outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- An understanding of capital investment processes.
- A current WA ‘C’ class drivers license.
