Power Station and Dewatering Mechanical Fitter 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

Roster: 8D/6R - FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

The Mine service's team at Eliwana ensures that mining can operate below the water table and to ensure the site water and power demand has an uninterrupted supply. Mine services department also service and maintain all Fire detection and gaseous suppression system in main buildings, village and OPF Facility.

Reporting to the Mechanical and Operational Supervisor, this position offers a key role for Fortescue’s Eliwana Mine Services Power and Water team. Focusing on maintaining the power and water assets for the Flying Fish project, which includes centrifugal pumps, portable generators, submersible pumps, isolation, and control valves.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Routine servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on the fleet of generators and diesel pumps
• Prioritise and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• Inspection and maintenance of multistage bore pumps, centrifugal pumps, fire pumps and isolation, and controls valves
• Refueling of generators and pumps

 Qualifications and skills required:

• Diesel trade background in either Light/ Heavy vehicle trade 
• Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment as well as individually
• Strong organisational and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Demonstrate strong safety values
• BMS and SAP experience
• HR drivers’ license, forklift, Loader, Excavator, CN, rigging tickets desireable
