Power Station Electrician
Work Location: Multiple roles across our Pilbara sites
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
At Fortescue we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. The Energy Operations assets are expanding as such so is the team, this is an exciting time to join. You will be a key member of the Power Station team and have exposure to a diverse range of engineering matters ensuring the sustainability of our operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operational performance and maintenance of this important asset
- Maintain our overhead distribution networks to ensure customer supply
- Work with the power station supervisors and planners to ensure all maintenance activities are resourced appropriately and executed in accordance with the maintenance strategy
- Carry out planned and routine maintenance activities on a broad range of electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Operate the diesel generators and their associated balance of plant from the onsite control room
- Diagnosing and fault finding on all equipment in the power station.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Electrical license
- Transformer, HV switchboard, Cable testing & maintenance experience
- High Voltage Switching certificate and relevant experience
- Experience in Diesel Generation Cummins and MTU
- Experience in AVK alternators and ComAp exposure
- Experience with all aspects of HV power distribution and transmission apparatus.
- Experience with all aspects of power station and or processing plant maintenance and fault finding i.e., PLC, Control system operation
- EWP and working at heights trained – desirable
- Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP
- Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as a motivated contributor
- Self-motivated individual with written and verbal communication skills
