• Environmental Sciences / Engineering

About the Roles

Join Yancoal, this summer holidays to gain hands-on experience and develop your technical skills by learning from the experts.

• Gain exposure to the diverse range of careers Yancoal has to offer
• It is a 10–12-week paid program during your summer break

What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?

• Be responsible and take ownership of the project you will be provided during your program
• Learn about technologies and software we use and how it helps to improve and navigate our daily work life
• Work along and get mentored by industry experts
• Make lifelong friendships with the teams you will be working with and develop your stakeholder management skills

As a Vacation Student at Yancoal you will:

• Gain industry experience by working alongside the industry experts
• Gain exposure to the diverse range of careers Yancoal has to offer
• Putting your classroom knowledge to understand how Yancoal builds a better world through responsible mining

What do you need to join our program?

• You must be currently enrolled in full-time studies at University. Whilst priority will be given to second and third year undergraduate students studying the relevant discipline, students who will have completed at least one full year of study by the end of 2024 are eligible to apply.
• Our Vacation Program is designed to give you a real taste of an exciting future. Every year Yancoal host a significant number of university students during the Summer university break.
• The roles are residential, and you will be expected to temporarily relocate to our mine site in South West WA for the duration of the 12-week program. Accommodation is provided as part of the package if required to relocate for the program
