About the Role
Our Warehousing & Logistics area are seeking a Preservation Maintenance Supervisor to join a technically motivated and results-driven team. Working within a core group, reporting directly to the Preservation Lead, this new role will ensure the delivery of quality preservation maintenance activities across 7 warehouses whilst managing a site-based Preservation team. You will ideally be based in Perth region with weekly travel between our warehouses. You will also be responsible for:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Raising the base condition of warehouse spares; that these are preserved and stored to a high standard
- Executing planned work orders to critical and non-critical spares
- Monitoring, tracking of preservation work and act (i.e. send for repair, repackaging and quality assurance checks when required) to mitigate any production loss
- Engaging and educating key stakeholders (i.e. vendors, warehouse and maintenance personnel, repairable team etc.) on the preservation strategy
- Performance management of a team of maintenance preservation technicians
- Ensuring purchase orders are created for contractors/services engaged, and vendors are paid on time
Please note this a FIFO role.
About You
We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership, and communication skills. Your proven ability to motivate and manage a team is essential to your success in this role. Proven leadership experience in a supply chain role and/or maintenance background is essential. You will utilise your ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and have strong decision-making skills to achieve the best outcome for your Preservation team.
You will have access to technology that will enable you to work flexibly, which is key to BHP’s success in addressing the requirements of a diverse workforce. Key requirements include:
- Previous maintenance or supply chain experience
- Electrical or mechanical trade qualification is advantageous
- SAP Warehousing and/or Plant Maintenance module knowledge
- Strong customer and stakeholder focus, with a good understanding of warehouse system and spares preservation
- An uncompromising commitment to safety
- A strong desire to led continuous improvement initiatives
- Forklift & drivers license and willing to travel frequently to our various warehouses
- Certificate III in Warehousing and Distribution or Certificate III or IV in Transport and Logistics would be advantageous.
