Principal Accountant

Work location: Dawson Rd., Perth Airport

Roster: Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end financial statement close (FSC) process for various projects within the HPS team
  • Provide finance support to the project managers and business leads, including insightful driver-based analysis using inputs from various stakeholders
  • Deliver accurate, robust and timely financial and management reporting to stakeholders, including provision of insightful analytical commentary
  • Manage the quarterly and annual forecasting processes
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS
  • Design, implement and maintain an efficient system of internal controls over finance-related processes
  • Continually identify and deliver finance process improvement initiatives working in close collaboration with the wider finance team. This includes ERP & Anaplan system improvements
  • Actively promote a safe working environment

Qualifications and skills required:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Minimum of 7 years’ business partnering experience, ideally with project accounting experience in a global organisation
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • SAP and PIMS experience preferred. Experience with PowerBI and/or Anaplan would be highly regarded
  • Excellent understanding of IFRS
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities within tight deadlines with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility
