About the role

We are looking for a Principal Adviser, Project Delivery to lead the Cutover and Hypercare Control Centre delivery within our Modern ERP program. You will bring together independently operating teams, technology partners and vendors to create one integrated execution plan and support safe, coordinated delivery through a critical implementation phase. This is an opportunity to combine enterprise program delivery, SAP cutover knowledge and people leadership in a complex, visible transformation environment.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Manager Project Delivery and working across the Modern ERP program, you will be:

  • Integrate plans from Rio Tinto and other delivery partners into one coordinated execution plan with clear dependencies and ownership.
  • Drive end-to-end readiness across cutover, go-live and hypercare, identifying delivery risks early and coordinating timely resolution.
  • Align multiple teams and workstreams operating independently, creating shared visibility of milestones, interdependencies, decisions and outcomes.
  • Lead and support people across a large-scale program building clarity, accountability and effective collaboration in a time-critical environment.
  • Manage vendor and delivery partner performance, ensuring commitments are understood, progress is transparent and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Communicate concise delivery insights and recommendations to program leaders and senior stakeholders to support informed decisions.
  • Promote disciplined, safe and consistent delivery while adapting plans in response to changing program needs.

About you

We’re looking for someone whose experience aligns with the key requirements below. You do not need to meet every “helpful for success” item to apply — if you bring relevant experience and are excited by the opportunity, we encourage you to submit an application.

Required for Success

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end delivery experience within a complex SAP project, including a clear understanding of the implementation lifecycle, cutover and hypercare.
  • Proven experience leading integrated delivery across multiple teams or workstreams within a large-scale technology, digital or enterprise transformation project.
  • People leadership and people management capability, with experience bringing diverse internal teams and external delivery partners together around shared outcomes.
  • Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience, including the ability to coordinate delivery across organisations and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
  • A consistent record of delivering complex project outcomes to agreed milestones in a fast-moving environment.

Helpful for Success

  • Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA projects or other modern enterprise resource planning transformations.
  • A technology or platform delivery background, including digital or software delivery exposure.
  •  Experience establishing or leading a cutover command centre, control centre or integrated hypercare function.

What We Offer

  • Attractive compensation aligned to the specialist nature and impact of the role.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • A safety-focused and inclusive working environment.
  • Career development to further your ambitions.
  • Ongoing wellbeing support.
  • Opportunity to shape a newly established workstream within one of Rio Tinto's most significant transformation programs.
