About the Role

Join out Modern ERP Program where you'll play a key leadership role in delivering SAP S/4HANA initiatives focused on HR, Payroll and broader ERP transformation. This role is suited to an experienced project manager professional who thrives in complex environments, can lead teams through change and has a track record of successfully delivering large-scale technology deployments.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of SAP S/4HANA projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are achieved.

  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams, providing leadership, coaching, and performance support.

  • Drive HR and Payroll transformation initiatives aligned to business priorities.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver successful outcomes.

  • Oversee project governance, reporting, risk management, and issue resolution.

  • Coordinate software and ERP deployment activities across multiple workstreams.

  • Ensure effective change management, readiness, and business adoption throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience leading large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation or transformation projects.

  • Strong project delivery experience within ERP, enterprise technology, or digital transformation programs.

  • Demonstrated leadership of project teams in complex and fast-paced environments.

  • Experience delivering HR and Payroll technology projects and process improvements or/and software deployments.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Expertise in project governance, risk management, budgeting, and reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on delivery outcomes.

  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and solution-focused approach.

You’ll join the Modern ERP Program within our Group Finance function — a multi‑disciplinary team bringing together technology, process, data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. We’re modernising a 20‑year‑old ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety, efficiency and innovation.

 This work will make it easier for people across our global operations to spend less time on transactional tasks and more time on the work that really matters. By simplifying and digitising how the organisation runs, the Modern ERP Program is creating the foundation for future productivity gains, smarter decision‑making and AI‑enabled transformation across the business
