About the role
We are looking for a Principal Adviser - Regional Asset Change Lead to support the successful deployment of SAP S/4HANA across our East Coast operations by ensuring our people are ready, confident and supported to adopt new ways of working from day one.
This is a great opportunity for a practical, people‑focused change professional who understands operational environments and enjoys working closely with leaders and teams from hubs to sites. This Fixed Term Contract opportunity is offered on a hybrid basis, and can be based in our Brisbane Hub or Gladstone location, with occasional travel across our East Coast sites.
Reporting to the Change Manager, and working in a collaborative and fast‑paced environment within the Modern ERP (M‑ERP) Program, you will be:
Owning and delivering the regional change plan aligned to the global Modern ERP change approach
Leading regional change impact assessments and ensuring impacts are reflected in training and communication plans
Developing and executing regional training and communication plans aligned to readiness milestones
Partnering closely with Regional and Asset Readiness Leads to integrate change, training and deployment activities
Engaging and supporting business leaders, acting as the key interlock between the program and PG/Function Leads
Monitoring adoption signals, user feedback and training effectiveness, escalating issues and supporting teams through go‑live and hyper‑care
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Proven experience leading change for large‑scale or operational transformations
Strong understanding of end‑user adoption, training delivery and communications in business and operational environments
Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders and influence outcomes
Experience identifying and managing adoption risks in major deployments
Ideally, experience within working within a mining, resources or similar environment to Rio Tinto, where on-site performance is core to business operations

You’ll join the Modern ERP Program — a multi‑disciplinary team bringing together technology, process, data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. We’re modernising a 20‑year‑old ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety, efficiency and ignite innovation.
This work supports our people across global operations to spend less time on transactional tasks and more time on work that really matters.
