About the role

We are seeking a Principal Advisor – Analytics and Insights to join our Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team within Iron Ore. In this newly created role, you will work across the business as a trusted advisor and strategic problem solver—shaping complex challenges, uncovering value-driving insights, and influencing smarter decisions.

Reporting the Manager Analytics and Insights – FBP you will;

  • Lead strategic diagnostics and high-impact analytics projects focused on  financial performance & efficiency

  • Collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partnering team and subject matter experts across the business to develop rich insights and actionable recommendations aligned with strategic priorities

  • Lead the development of financial performance & initiative valuation methodologies and metrics, design supporting models, tools and outputs in conjunction with the Analytics and Insights team

  • Coach and support the FBP leadership team in structured thinking, data-driven storytelling and communicating insights that influence senior stakeholders

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in strategy consulting, corporate advisory, or business improvement with a track record of delivering impact in complex environments.

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills – able to frame ambiguous problems, analyse complex data, and drive collaborative problem-solving to insight.

  • A solid understanding of financial principles and how they link to operational performance in the mining or heavy industry sectors.

  • High proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for structured analysis and storytelling, with the ability to work effectively with teams using advanced analytics and data tools such as Power BI, SQL and Python.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to influence and build trusted relationships across the business at all levels.

  • Demonstrated experience coaching and supporting others, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. MBA desirable

This is a Perth based role working out of our Central Park CBD office building with flexible working arrangements on offer.
