We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Asset Management who will work closely across Product Groups to collaborate and lead asset management projects and change programmes to deliver business objectives.

Reporting to the Lead Asset Management in a collaborative community within the Asset Management Centre of Excellence (CoE) team, you will be:
- Partner with site and product group resources to lead structured Asset Management improvement programs at sites, using the Rio Tinto Asset Management framework practices and procedures and utilizing both internal and external (consultant) resources for delivery.
- Provide subject matter expertise to site teams on core AM processes including Work Management, Defect Elimination, Tactics Development, Asset Criticality assessment, Shutdown Management and Strategic Asset Management Plan development.
- Leading and partnering with sites on standardizing, replicating and sustaining asset management processes and procedures to deliver sustainable operations
- Partnering with sites to embed and or replicate leading asset management practice/s
- Partnering with sites to build and strengthen existing asset management capabilities
- Providing assistance with group assurance audits, reviews and investigations
- Support the review and update of guidance materials and tools related to Rio Tinto AM processes through participation in working groups led by the relevant process owners.
- Pilot new tools and process updates in conjunction with process owners at selected sites.
- Proactively supporting the BU’s with asset management support, risk reduction/mitigation, and protection of the license to operate and strategic objectives
- Be responsible for seamless relationship between the product group business owner and Rio Tinto STP AM CoE
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Processing, Maintenance, Operations, Business Analysis or other relevant discipline
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the different Asset Management elements
- Demonstrated experience in implementing/executing/embedding Asset Management improvement initiatives
- Experience applying Reliability Engineering principals (Reliability Centered Maintenance / Root Cause Analysis / Reliability Modeling) in a heavy industrial environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with strong ability to liaise with external and internal stakeholders effectively
- Strong ability to adapt to different site contexts
- 7+ years of proven leadership experience with high influencing and negotiation skills
- International experience and ideally knowledge of multiple commodities fixed plant/HME/ports/rails/power asset etc
- Dual language skills (French / Spanish) and SAP knowledge highly regarded.

Where you’ll be working
This role will be based in our Perth or Brisbane hub with regular travel to site.
