We are looking for a Principal Advisor, Business Analysis to support the Senior Leadership Team by providing strategic insights into investment decisions. This role will support Finance and the Energy & Climate teams.
This is a great opportunity for an energetic and performance driven individual who is keen to work in a high performing team function and gain exposure to the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis, you will:
- Engage with Senior Leaders across the business to identify, advise and evaluate capital and commercial proposals to maximise value;
- Prepare and review business proposals to the Investment Committee and advise on relevant commercial risks and opportunities;
- Support planning and capital management processes, including capital prioritisation
- Become a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, influencing and advising on relevant commercial issues;
- Be courageous in the pursuit of innovative evaluation techniques to quantify risks and uncertainties using valuation models, screening tools, probabilistic tools and decision tree analysis in a fit-for-purpose manner;
- Apply commercial and corporate finance rigour to all business investment decisions
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Bachelor in Commerce, Engineering or Economics (or similar) is preferable but not essential.
- At least 5 years experience, with a demonstrated ability to work in a global business across organisational and geographical interfaces. Ideally with exposure to energy-related financial analysis and investments.
- Very strong analytical skills, including outstanding financial evaluation and modelling expertise.
- Proactive insight generation and an interest in challenging the status quo to find more effective ways of operating.
- Excellent communication skills to enable the presentation of complex information and analysis to a wide range of senior stakeholders across the Group.
- Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence and deliver superior results.

Where you will be working
The Business & Technology Support Business Analysis team reports through to the Group CFO. You will be working closely with your direct manager and the rest of the BA team in Brisbane.
