We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Digital Asset Management who will lead programs of work to improve the performance of our assets by advancing digitization and condition monitoring for our broad asset base across the globe. This role will develop and implement processes, technologies and connect people to ensure a consistent and structured approach to our Smart Plant programme. 

This role is a great opportunity to join a truly global mining organization and support the development and implementation of our Smart Plant programme by performing the following activities: 

  • Support the development of the vision and architecture for the Smart Plant programme – What it means, how will it work, and its benefits, including change management required in technology, processes, and people;
  • Engage with external providers and stress test the vision and plans;
  • Develop and implement a proof-of-concept (POC) pilot project on a critical asset type to test and fine-tune the plan in a small scale implementation;
  • Understand and document the current landscape of condition monitoring, process historians, maintenance, lubrication, reliability, inspections, and other data and tools in the Group;
  • Facilitate the generation of business value and drive better AM decision making with the application of Artificial Intelligence technologies
  • Enable the creation of Asset Health reports with standard taxonomies for Health Status, Fault Types, Remedial Actions, and others to facilitate supervised learning by machine learning and AI approaches;
  • Automate workflows to improve productivity, safety and reduce cost;
  • Support the creation of insights and reports to assist our sites decision-making process and quantify past and current performance;
  • Enable Operate for Reliability (O4R) by integrating maintenance and operational data and producing advisories to operators and process control systems.

What you’ll bringTo succeed in this role, you will have:

  • BE or BEng in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience and understanding in implementing online condition monitoring technologies and IIOT sensors and devices deployment
  • Understanding of data messaging protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, Profibus, others
  • Experience in maintenance and reliability management and metrics
  • Experience in the use of CMMS such as SAP/PM to create reports, work notifications, other common transactions, and data integration and consumption
  • Basic SCADA/OSIPI and PLC data integration and programming
  • Significant experience >2 years in the Oil and Gas / Petrochemical sector or MAE Processing facilities.
  • Project Management/Lead Engineering experience
  • Travel domestically and internationally when site visits are necessary
  • Desired Knowledge in:
    • Software programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, HTML, SQL, Python, R.)
    • Cloud services such as Azure and Amazon Web Services
    • Data analytics
    • Data integration
    • Data lake
    • Structured and unstructured data
    • Machine learning algorithms and solutions

Other Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills leading to strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Capability to facilitate workshops and present results to stakeholders
  • Capability to provide training and coaching
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
