About the role
We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Enterprise Architecture, to work in the Mines and Expansion Projects portfolio. This role will focus on architecture strategy across a number of business units including, Pilbara Mines, Expansion Projects, Studies and Sustaining Capital, ensuring the “right technology” is selected for the right business outcomes; to reduce complexity, increase organisational agility and drive competitive advantage in this space.

Reporting to the Manager Strategy & Architecture (APAC W), and working in challenging and exciting environment within our global Enterprise Architecture Team, you will:
- Work with relevant Information Systems & Technology (IS&T), Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) and business stakeholders to provide high level advice regarding compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards and practices
- Develop and own, current and target state Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) architecture for the Pilbara mines portfolio, leading the development of strategy and roadmaps
- Review and provide Enterprise Architecture (EA) direction and guidance for high level design documentation against Program and projects including target state architecture.
- Define and enforce architecture principles and standards through active participation in Architecture Review Process.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to more junior members of the Enterprise Architecture team and be current with emerging technologies, publish points of view, rallying sponsorship within the IS&T leadership by formulating actionable business cases.
- Act as a trusted advisor, build and maintain relationships with business partners to develop a clear understanding of business needs and opportunities for technology solution advancements/improvements.
- Identify opportunities to standardise technology landscape for improved efficiency, effectiveness, and risk management, and increased business responsiveness.
What you’ll bring

- Proven experience in a variety of Information Technology (IT) roles focused on delivery, operational excellence, engineering and/or architecture.
- Architecture experience in at least one of the following IT disciplines (Enterprise applications, Integration, Network, Data, Infrastructure, Cloud and operations) in a large corporate or equivalent consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience influencing key decision makers or senior executives in a large, cross-functional team setting.
- Previous experience with delivering strategy, roadmaps, reference architecture and standards; experience in development of business cases.
- Direct experience in solution architecture roles and experience with TOGAF or equivalent methodology and tools.
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Demonstrated experience with Mining Operational Technology (Applications, Data and/or Infrastructure)
- “End to End” architecture experience within a Mining or Resources organisation
