About the role
We are looking for a Principal Advisor Governance and Strategy to lead a stream of work and be a key member of a highly functioning team working on an interesting and challenging project.

Reporting to the Project Director and being a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing effective internal governance structures to support project needs.
- Engaging with internal and external experts to develop the strategic direction of the project.
- Reporting project progress and associated risks to the Steering Committee, Executive Committee and Board.
- Maintaining an effective risk register which reflects the dynamic nature of the project and providing guidance and advice to management on key project threats and opportunities.
- Using innovative, blue-sky thinking to support the development of an options analysis and pathways to success considering various project stakeholders (government, community, company).
- Maintaining effective controls and accountabilities to facilitate project success.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to create a shared knowledge base, and ensure objectives are understood and aligned.

- An understanding of study and project processes
- Ability to consider options and prepare persuasive well-written documentation
- Self determination to run with assigned responsibilities
- Experience in project governance and assurance processes
- Experience in undertaking risk assessments and proactively managing risk
- High degree of confidentiality and discretion
- Some experience in strategic decision making
- Strong stakeholder management and organisational skills
- A good understanding of company board process
