About the role
We are looking for a Principal Advisor: Indigenous, Local & Sustainable Procurement, to drive the vision and change in Indigenous, local and sustainable procurement supporting Western Australia.
This role is a great opportunity for a person with a strong commercial acumen, sound strategic thinking capability and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to drive change across procurement and the business.
Reporting to the Local & Sustainable Procurement Manager you will:
- Create a framework to ensure consistent approach to Indigenous, local and sustainable procurement spend across Rio Tinto Australia
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to establish the commercial and projects execution strategies
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities to create visibility and transparency with internal and external stakeholders, and ultimately increase the prominence of all levers of value in our souring decisions.
- Drive programs to support the economic development of Indigenous, local and sustainable businesses
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capability
- Proven ability to build a network and lead a team of passionate professionals
- Degree qualified with strong commercial acumen
- Procurement background with a passion for sustainable, environmental and social improvement across our supply chain
- Preference will be given to candidates possessing a sound understanding of the local and Indigenous supplier footprint and related local and global best practice
