About the role
We are looking for a Principal Adviser Processing Practice to be a subject matter expert in leading processing productivity measures and practices. you will be working in a collaborative and exciting environment within the Processing Centre of Excellence. This is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge of all the Rio Tinto Product Groups as well as the rest of Group Technical.

Reporting to the Manager Processing Practice, the work of the role includes:
· Supporting benchmarking, planning and improvement work, including:
o Participation in Building Full Potential activities (BFPs).
o Supporting the implementation of the Rio Tinto Safe Production System (SPS).
o The development and application of practices for identifying and delivering process improvement.
· Providing Rio Tinto operations with processing-related advice and support:
o Performing process performance and project reviews.
o Assistance in resolving processing issues.
o Supporting process improvement work.
· Sharing processing best practice by:
o Developing and maintaining connections with processing practitioners and subject matter experts both externally and within Rio Tinto.
o Proactively engaging with key processing stakeholders and maintaining a high level of knowledge about operating sites.
· Supporting the development and application of global processing metrics, including AURp, Constraint utilisation (CU) and Process Control Index (PCI):
o Collection, analysis and reporting of global processing metrics data.
o Interpretation of data in conjunction site personnel and using this to identify trends and opportunities.
o Ongoing review of metrics suitability and recommendation of changes as appropriate.
o Development and maintenance of supporting documentation.
The role is available on a full or part-time basis (60% or greater).
What you will bring
• A high level of commitment to safety.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence strategy; translate strategy into practical and innovative solutions; and deliver improved processing practices.
• Subject matter expertise in minerals processing, hydrometallurgy and/or pyrometallurgy.
• Strong stakeholder engagement capability.
• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, chemical engineering or a related discipline.

You will be part of the Processing Centre of Excellence; created to support all the assets in achieving and sustaining processing excellence. While based at a hub, you will be exposed to processing operations across the group.
