About the role

We are looking for a Principal Advisor – Global Technology Projects who will be responsible for leading the technology procurement projects team within our Global Technology procurement portfolio. You will be accountable for the execution of end-to-end procurement activities (sourcing strategies, project sourcing, contract implementation, post award contract management and SRM) in partnership with the Rio Tinto Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Partnering and Projects function.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technology procurement leader. You will enjoy collaborating with a range of stakeholders to influence and manage a broad portfolio of work. You have a passion for people leadership, transformation and can speak the language of today’s technology landscape. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Global Technology you will:
- Provide leadership to a large team working across multiple locations.
- Build and manage effective relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders;
- Lead business co-planning activities for technology projects;
- Collaborate effectively with Global Technology Category leads;
- Provide commercial leadership and guidance to the relevant stakeholder teams;
- Build and grow relationships with relevant suppliers to drive innovation and value;
- Work effectively in a global team; and
- Facilitate implementation of continuous category improvement initiatives.
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have had significant prior experience in Technology Procurement as well as a proven record of leading successful teams. Your ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal & external stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement is essential.
