About the role
This role works closely with the Rio Tinto APAC Logistics business units and stakeholders to develop, source, implement and assist in managing end-to-end supply chain solutions. In collaboration with stakeholders, you will develop long term contract management strategy for logistics supply contracts and lead contract reviews and tenders to deliver the logistics solutions required by Rio Tinto business units in line with the overarching APAC Land Logistics strategy.
You will be responsible for the following:
Develop and implement end to end logistics solutions inbound and outbound to support the Rio Tinto businesses including detailed cost analysis, optimised operational options, advice and proposed pathways forwards.
Provide expertise and advice to the business on how to achieve the best commercial and operational multimodal landside logistics solutions within the APAC region.
Engage with Rio Tinto business units to provide Logistics solutions and advice for project work including Greenfield as required.
Collaborate with Rio Tinto internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best commercial and operational outcome for Rio Tinto in line with the APAC Logistics strategy.
Support the APAC Logistics Execution team(s) and suppliers to effectively deliver the operational outcomes required for all contracts.
Collaboration with HSE Commercial with suppliers participating in Safety Maturity Model (SMM) audits, utilising operational experience and knowledge to coach suppliers in how to improve their scores and overall safety maturity within their business.
Negotiate and manage complex tenders and contracts ensuring alignment with all business unit stakeholders through extensive stakeholder engagement and consultation.
Lead the operational implementation of contracts and end-to-end supply chains in collaboration with the APAC Logistics execution team(s).
Work with suppliers to provide detailed reporting against agreed contract KPIs, addressing areas of reduced performance with measurable corrective action.
Lead and support business stakeholders in the day-to-day management and supplier contract Business Review meetings referencing contract KPI and performance criteria for each contract including but not restricted to creating and maintaining:
Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Rio Tinto SharePoint platforms.
Coordination and preparation of all data and reports for supplier contract Business Reviews.
Management of contract KPI dashboards.
Capture all Logistics saving initiatives within the Rio Tinto tracking platform MOMENTUM and manage each initiative to move through all the key stages.
Build strong collaborative relationships and provide clear and concise presentations and communication to all external and internal stakeholders, including the Rio Tinto Senior Leadership Team.
Site travel to Rio Tinto sites and supplier operations as required.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business or related field
At least 8 years of related experience across supply chain, supply & demand planning in particular with trade or capacity management experience in container liner shipping industry being advantage
Technical and analytical exposure related to logistics and supply chain activities at a Country or Regional level of accountability
Demonstrated ability to perform high level analytical complexity and distil insight to senior stakeholders
Leading, developing and engaging a team of diverse and global professionals across multiple regions
Collaborating and influencing large groups of cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to drive adoption and efficient use of digital solutions to manage logistics flows
Proficient in Excel, Power BI, SAP experience preferred
