About the role:

We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking Principal Advisor - Supply Chain, IS&T to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. This role is the IS&T Principal Advisor to our key Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO) Supply Chain customers (Rail, Port, Utilities and Facilities) to identify opportunities to leverage Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) skills to provide world class solutions. This is a customer-centric role that requires excellent stakeholder engagement at all levels in the organisation, allowing you to showcase your strategy development experience and knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

Reporting to the IS&T Business Partner RTIO Rail, Port & Core Services APAC West and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our global IS&T teams, you will have the opportunity to shape our internal and partner strategies and have responsibility to:

• Establish strong relationships with our customers (Ports, Marine, Rail, Utilities and Facilities) and within IS&T (Partnering and Projects, Cyber Security, Technical Platforms, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, and Products & Software Development).
• Partner with the above to optimise customer service delivery and directly support strategic and long-term priority projects.
• Lead our team and customer strategy development and implementation.
• Manage our team’s Continuous Improvement strategy development and execution.
• Oversee our team’s Demand Management, Reporting and Customer Relationship Management system and processes.
• Lead our team’s contributions to broader IS&T strategy initiatives (including by engaging with our global peers to contribute to the IS&T Global Transformation Programme).

• Desirable skills/experience includes:
  • Delivery or supporting optimisation/improvement projects (lean/Six sigma or similar).
  • Managing or working closely with external technology and management consultants.
  • Working as (or closely with) functional and business architects.
  • Project Management.
