The Opportunity – Permanent, Full Time Position
In the position of Principal Analytics Improvement youwill be accountable for supporting South32's Global Analytics programs focussing on capability uplift and program change management. As Principal you will develop the analytics capability uplift program and support delivery of the analytics component of our Business Improvement Operating Model. A key component of this role is engaging with key stakeholders of the Corporate Functions and Operations to build a deep understanding of their priorities, culture, and business language, and to bridge the gap between the technical analytics solutions we create and the business problems/opportunities these solutions are designed to address.
Reporting to the Program Manager Analytics, your key accountabilities are:
Customer Engagement
- Engage with Operations and Functions to understand their priorities, culture, and current state maturity with regards to data and analytics
- Translating the requirements of the Business to the analytics project delivery teams, and likewise translating analytics solutions back to the Business in a way that is easy for them to understand and interpret
Building trusted relationships with key Operations and Functions stakeholders
Capability Uplift Program
- Understanding the key data and analytics capabilities required across different teams and roles within South32 and designing a capability uplift program to address the required shift
- Working closely with the Group Improvement and Business Improvement Teams to design and deliver the future operating model for analytics within Business Improvement teams
- Working with vendors to develop required tools, templates, and training
Change Management & Solution Adoption
- Developing and implementing a program-level change management and stakeholder engagement approach for the Analytics to Outcomes Program, working closely with the Analytics team, Digital Technology team, Business Improvement team and other key stakeholders to deliver one coordinated change approach
- Providing ongoing change management coaching and support for data and analytics projects and help to act as the translator between technical solutions and business needs
About You
Here are some of the core skills we’d like you to have:
- Demonstrated capability in business improvement processes and methodologies
- Proven capability in leading whole-of-organisation, cross-functional complex change programs through to value delivery
- Deep experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Demonstrated capability in designing and delivering capability uplift programs across global organisations
- Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
- Deep experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools
- Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
- Problem solving and root cause identification skills
- Demonstrated competency in general and project reporting (includes presentation of report and / or findings to stakeholders)
- Organised with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
- Comfort communicating and interacting with data scientists, as well as understanding and translating the science of analytics to a more general audience
- Strong understanding of digital / technologies and how they drive business value
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or similar
- Additional finance or commercial qualification is desirable
- Additional qualification in Lean Six Sigma, Design Thinking or Change Management is desirable
