About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Operating Systems (Operation Services), we are seeking multiple experienced improvement specialists & principals with experience in the application of BHP Operating System.

You will utilise innovative approaches, tools, and technology to add real value to Operation Services and our customers - setting new standards to guide improvement activity, elevating, and supporting our people. Due to the nature of Operation Services work activities and locations, a practical application mindset is critical for Operations Services success in applying the operating system across Minerals Australia. Your key deliverables include: 

  • Support the operating system maturity strategy in focus areas;
  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding, engagement and relevance in the application of the operating system;
  • Coach and build capability of Operation Services General Managers and teams in required knowledge and skills;
  • Knowledge share and guidance of practical, physical and visual application of system tools and methods;
  • Partner with other parts of the business to identify and resolve process inefficiencies across the value chain;
  • Embedding mindset and behavioural changes among operational leadership;
  • Support the replication of best practices across Operation Services deployments;

About You

We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change. To be successful you will demonstrate the following:   

  • The ability to effectively identify opportunities to increase value and eliminate hazards, waste and variability.
  • Strong problem solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coaching leadership teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a continuous improvement culture.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and mature understanding of BOS (Lean) philosophy, techniques and practical application.

Location

In this full-time permanent position, you will be based either at an operational site, Brisbane, Queensland or Perth, Western Australia

You will be working a Monday-Friday roster with working from home considerations.

This role requires frequent site and occasional interstate travel.
