About the Role

An exciting role of Principal Army and Learning Partnerships exists at BHP.  This role is responsible for managing multiple stakeholders across BHP and their interactions with the Australian Army so we achieve our objectives of the Partnership. This will happen through facilitating the setting of clear and bold objectives for the work streams, then managing initiatives through effective collaboration with Army, project management, governance and administration. 

You will need to feel comfortable communicating at a variety of organisational levels. Your negotiation and facilitation skills will lead the way to motivate and engage internal stakeholders to consider the possibilities in the Partnership, as well as being a key representative of BHP values and safety when engaging with external stakeholders. 

  • Project management and reporting of partnership initiatives.
  • Leading collaborative initiatives with Army stakeholders including secondments and the BHP Reservist program. 
  • Advocate and promote the partnership within BHP to identify new opportunities to unlock value, close gaps and innovate 
  • Serve as the PMO function, liaising with similar role in Army to enable all working dimensions of the Partnership to be enabled, also to progress the opportunities in a timely manner
  • Coordination of functional SME including but not limited to legal, compliance and communications
  • Facilitation of guest speakers, site visits and workshops for BHP and Army teams. 
  • Represent the partnership on the BHP Veteran Network ERG. Leverage expertise and resources to enhance the delivery of partnership initiatives.

This role is permanent part-time working 3 days per week and can be based in either Brisbane or Perth.

About You

You will be a self-motivated individual that enjoys being hands on, happy to dive into the detail, and have a proven track record of delivering creative, targeted campaigns and customer focused solutions. You will bring energy and a strong team player attitude with the ability to collaborate across teams. You will be a strong advocate for change and be motivated by success and inspiring others through your relationship building and influencing skills.

In addition, we are looking for the following:

  • Project management experience including proactive, continuous improvement focus that identifies opportunities and efficiencies;
  • Collaborative and team player;
  • Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours;
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to build credibility and trust;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Understanding of the Australian Army and/or military services is useful but not essential.
