We have a rare opportunity for an experienced advanced analytics leader to manage a predictive asset health program across Rio Tinto. The role is based in the Asset Management Centre of Excellence and will partner across Aluminium, Copper, Minerals and Iron Ore, as well as our service and support functions spanning 35 countries around the world.

Our Asset Management Centre of Excellence partners with the business to optimise the risk, performance and cost of our assets. As the Principal Asset Health Advanced Analytics Services, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead the implementation and advancement of the Predictive Asset Health Program across our organization. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to define the program's roadmap, identify relevant data sources, develop models, and ensure effective deployment and utilization of predictive analytics solutions among our asset health community.

With support from the Practice Lead Asset Management Technology and Analysis, your role will lead a team to:

  • Coordinate the development and execution of the Predictive Asset Health Program, utilizing data science and machine learning techniques on the Azure machine learning platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the program roadmap, goals, and objectives.
  • Identify and assess relevant data sources, ensuring data quality and integrity for predictive analytics initiatives.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models to monitor asset health, identify anomalies, and predict maintenance needs.
  • Analyse and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimizing asset performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and machine learning, ensuring the program remains at the forefront of predictive analytics advancements.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical concepts and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to drive program success.

In additional to the above, you will also play a role in contributing to the continuous improvement of the business Asset Management Body of Knowledge, in collaboration with our practice leads and product group stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

You possess a strong background in data science, machine learning, and predictive analytics. You are adept at leveraging cloud-based platforms, specifically Azure machine learning, to develop and deploy predictive models. Your passion for driving insight-driven decision-making and optimizing asset performance sets you apart from your peers. You are an experience predictive analytics program manager and are excited by the challenge of working across a global business of this scale and complexity. You have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a solid understanding of available asset management technologies.

Previous engineering experience working with mining assets is essential – while we also appreciate experience gained through other related industries including but not limited to defence, aviation and other resource sectors. A tertiary qualification in a related discipline will also be highly regarded.What we offer
