Role Overview:
Fortescue is seeking a strategic thinker and natural problem solver with strong communication skills to join our Business Improvement Team. As Principal Business Improvement, you will report to the Business Improvement Manager within the Integrated Operations function. In this incredibly diverse role, you will be accountable for driving Business Improvement across all aspects of Iron Operations, including by supporting sites and functions with Fortescue's common improvement approach, identifying and executing on initiatives, managing cross-functional workstreams and ensuring ambitious cost savings and productivity targets are met.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support Iron Ore sites and functions, working closely with respective Business Improvement Leads to deliver ambitious improvement targets across all areas.
- Support and maintains central Business Improvement management system.
- Drive excitement and energy around improvement efforts.
- Coach teams on how to use different improvement methodologies.
- Manages delivery of highest value improvement initiatives - including by managing cross-functional workstreams.
- Generation of Business Cases, Project Charters & Plans for Project & Solution Deployment.
- Assist in the identification of opportunities to reduce expenditure, increase production, improve safety and culture.
- Facilitate workshops to help ensure the consideration of differing opinions and options.
- Effectively present findings and updates to Management in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Postgraduate education in a business or mining related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role or in consulting / advisory.
- Experience in problem solving methodologies is favorable.
- Attention to detail and proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication / interpersonal / facilitation skills.
- Ability to work cohesively with and influence others.
