Business Improvement Principal / Commercial Analyst

Work Location: Perth with Required Site Travel to Chichester Hub Operations.

Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, we have an opportunity for an experienced Business Improvement Professional / Commercial Analyst to drive business improvement across the Chichester Hub operations, delivering ambitious cost savings and volume targets.  This includes supporting, coaching, building excitement and driving discipline for improvement efforts across the Site. It will also include interpreting trends and preparing commercial analysis to identify and support business improvement opportunities and initiative prioritisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the identification of opportunities to reduce expenditure, increase production, improve safety and culture
  • Driving delivery of ambitious improvement targets across all areas of operations
  • Creating and maintaining excitement and energy around improvement efforts, including recognition
  • Establishing routines and metrics and to drive improvement discipline and delivery
  • Interpreting costs and production drivers to inform strategic thinking and the prioritisation of initiatives
  • Generation of Business Case and Project Charters, including ad hoc commercial analysis & KPI/Trend analysis
  • Effectively present findings and updates to Management in a clear and concise manner

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering or Mining related discipline
  • Experience leading and facilitating business improvement practices within the Mining industry
  • Knowledge of change management methodologies
  • Strong analytical skillset – Excel, Power BI, Tableau
  • Strong communication / interpersonal / facilitation skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with and influence others, across a diverse stakeholder group
  • 3+ years of operational experience in a similar role within the Mining or Manufacturing industry
