About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Business Planning within our Finance Operations function. Reporting to the Manager Business Planning, this role provides technical expertise in the development, evaluation, recommendation, and delivery of Asset based strategies and medium to long term business plans. 

Core accountabilities include:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) process for the Copper SA by ensuring planning processes are continuously improved, fit for purpose, effective, simple and efficient.
  • Develop and maintain Asset Strategy, LOA and 2YP documentation to ensure approved and timely inputs and acting as the Key Asset contact.
  • Develop and implement appropriate governance processes to ensure adequate review of inputs/assumptions, outputs (mine planning and valuation), findings and recommendations that ultimately ensure Long Term Planning assumptions for Operational areas are robust, consistent and achievable.
  • Facilitate the analysis and review of functional enablers that define the utilisation of workforce, non-process infrastructure, closure plans, tenements and approvals plans, supply chain design and technology plans.
  • Support the analysis of production, benchmarking and project data to identify opportunities for increased capacity utilisation.
  • Develop the Asset Strategy and Plans compliant with CAP guidelines.
  • Support development of the Strategy Review and supporting materials (presentation, pre-read and query responses)
  • Continue to evolve the planning process, systems and communications toward seamless integration with business and business-wide literacy.

This role is available on a full-time basis in Adelaide, South Australia.

About You

You will have the ability to build and nurture stakeholder relationships across all levels of the organisation. A natural communicator, you will be articulate in verbal and written formats.  

You will be a strategic thinker with experience across delivery planning, financial modelling, risk management and business improvement. 

You will be team oriented with ability to influence and support robust decision making, in an ambiguous and complex environment. 

Attention to detail and intuitive analysis skills, complimented with ability in executive storytelling

Exposure managing multiple projects simultaneously including scoping, planning, scheduling, resource management and execution

Formal requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in business management, finance, engineering or related discipline 
  • Experience in large scale operations within the mining or resources industry.
