Principal Category Management – Energy & Power Team
Work Location: Fortescue Centre - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

An opportunity to play a key leadership role within Fortescue's Decarbonisation Energy & Power team. The Principal Category Management – Energy & Power will provide specialist procurement and operational advice and management across the end-to-end supply chain for Energy i.e. categories of diesel, lubricants, gas supply and electricity, maintenance and supply contracting with respect to high voltage assets as well as Renewable Energy Certificates, in the development and installation of procurement arrangements to meet current and future and business objectives effectively and efficiently.
The Principal Category Management will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and direction to team members within the Energy & Power Team, and will report to the Manager Category Management Decarbonisation, Energy & Power.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Leading the execution of procurement strategies to deliver enhanced commercial outcomes and innovative solutions.
- Provide operational support with respect to Energy & Power Team activities
- Contract management – guide, direct, and mentor team members in contract management duties and development of category strategies
- Governance and risk management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
- Supplier relationship management (SRM) - deliver value through effective management of strategic supplier relationships at a senior or Executive level.
Qualifications and skills required:
- 10 years’ experience in similar energy roles.
- 3 - 5 years or more experience managing teams.
- Team leadership capability and the capacity to mentor and develop senior category specialists, category specialists and officers.
- Previous experience and understanding of Western Australian energy markets will be highly regarded.
